cruising to BUDAPEST 11-5-2015

In the middle of the night we passed BRATISLAVA  with the luminated castle and bridges.

A small group of us was allowed to see these sites from the captains room on top of the boat.

                    
And half an hour later I saw the DANUBIANA Museum (see separate blog) pass by from our room window.

 Early in the morning we awoke near KOMARON and afterwards we saw ESZTERGOM in the beautiful morning light.







And 2 hours earlier then planned, we arrived in the center of Budapest, where our captain first made an extra round before the parliament building and we anchored around 11:00 next to the Freedom bridge.

After a secret outing with the ships cook and chef to the nearby Market with a small group of guests, we had lunch and in the afternoon everybody went somewhere to have a look at all the places to see in Budapest.

I walked in the vicinity of the boat and visited the GELLERT baths.

After a hungarian diner (with a hungarian cook and chef that had to be wonderful !) we left Budapest around 22:00; but our captain did it in a very special way : very slowly and with beautiful music we first returned to the parliament building and turned there and again we saw all the beautiful bridges, churches and other illuminated buildings; so after approximately an hour we really took off in the direction of MOHACS.
