5-12 alora & marbella

after some thought and sceduling, we replanned our holiday (again);
our 5 night stay in alora will be a 3night and we will go to cordoba tomorrow (on sunday) and stay there 2 nights.

then I can go to madrid by train on monday and can we go on from cordoba to sevilla and further on tuesday.
(going to madrid from alora and malaga was to frustrating, not really flights at the right time and to complicated and unpleasant for the one staying behind; now while we will be in cordoba, the train-station is near our hotel, I can walk to it, and coskun and toffie can also walk around  and sight-see while I am away!
cordoba is fully booked this weekend so our hotel is not very cheap : we had one of the last rooms there!, but we saved some on the train/flight ticktes so...)

first I booked the hotel and my train tickets and then at the end of the morning we descided to go to marbella.

the area around alora is at 100m above sealevel but alora lies on a hill of 300m at the top;
that is already quite special, all roads in the village are very steep and everybody has a good view of the valley below where the river the quadalhorce runs.

going towards marbella we had to climb other mountains until approx. 750m, that wind quickly down in the last kms towards marbella; a wonderfull scenery!

in marbella it was a bit like summer again, nearly all the cafes and restaurants on the seaside but also in the middle of the town were open and filled with people. nobody was swimming in the sea, I think because there was a rather cold wind today; yesterday in malaga people were swimming in the sea!

we admired the avenida del mar with all the nice sculptures of salvador dali, and walked around the old town with the plaza de la naranjos (oranges, and yes they were on the trees).

and we had a very good seafood paella listening to julio iglesias in the castillo restaurant (I hope we picked the right one, philippine?).
